Beach-combing is one of my favorite summer activities, and the beaches I love best in the world are along the remote and beautiful Washington coast. I've been escaping to the Olympic Peninsula ever since I was a child.

S If you find yourself wearing bellbottoms (again!) or a gauzy embroidered blouse, maybe you need a pair of flower-power earrings to complete the retro look!
These are really sweet: A sterling silver daisy dangles inside a sterling hoop with a small blue bead at the bottom to give them a bit of color. The bead is chrysocolla, which looks like turquoise.
The ear wires are sterling french wires. Let me know if you prefer another style of ear wires. I can accommodate most requests.
Price: $25
The price includes taxes, shipping and insurance to U.S. destinations.
SOLD OUT.

I found these vintage mother of pearl buttons at an antique store in Snohomish, a little town about 40 miles northeast of Seattle.
I love buttons, so I couldn't pass these up. The package contained mother of pearl buttons of all shapes and sizes--square, triangular, round, oval ... and some shapes I can't put a name to. The buttons are from the 1940s and later, and they have a beautiful sheen.
These special buttons became the charms on this one-of-a-kind bracelet, and it's a perfect bracelet for pairing with your summer clothes--white shorts, an ivory cotton sweater, and this bracelet. Buttons are durable, so you can wear it at the beach, or on a boat, even swimming!
The chain, toggle clasp, and little accent beads are all sterling silver. I attached the buttons with wrapped wire loops, to make it extra-sturdy, and there's a crystal near the clasp for a little extra bling.
Length: 8 inches.
(This fits a largish wrist of up to about 7 inches. Let me know if you need it shortened.)
Price: $70.
The price includes taxes, shipping, and insurance to U.S. destinations.

I made this pair of jade earrings for Teri's mother, which is why they have a different ear wire from the ones I usually use.

There are some days when--no question--you need a dramatic pair of earrings.

When my mother was a child, during the Great Depression, I think every family had a button box. That's where you went when you lost a button, rather than to the store.

I found
these unusual turquoise beads recently, and bought two strands of them.
The beads are square, and drilled diagonally at an angle so that the beads overlap slightly when strung together.
The look is simply elegant.
This bracelet has one strand of the square turquoise beads, and the other strand is a handmade sterling-silver chain that I found in an antique shop. I put the charm--a vintage sterling sombrero--near the clasp rather than in the middle of the bracelet because I didn't want to break up the line of the overlapping square beads.
The sterling
clasp is a figure 8, which echoes the design of the chain.

Length: 7 inches.
I can adjust the bracelet for a perfect fit, just e-mail me your wrist measurement.
SOLD.

When I was in Omaha, I visited my friend Teri's favorite gem and bead store, and I found some pretty fantastic things, including the strand of mixed gemstones that I paired with a love token in this necklace.
