First, I found these beads. They are "coins" of yellow jade, and the shades range from palest beige to amber to a rich golden brown.
I thought I might pair them with a cat charm, but somehow that didn't seem quite right. Then, I found this fantastic vintage charm on Sandy's site.
It's a sterling silver Noah's ark, made in the 1970s, but what makes it special is that two little giraffes are sticking their long necks up and out from the Ark, one on either side of the boat. Totally charming!
When I put the jade beads and the charm together, I realized that the beads are "giraffe colored," or at least that's how they seemed to me.
This one-of-a-kind bracelet has two strands. The first I made with the jade beads and flower-shaped jump rings. The second is a sterling silver chain of just the right weight to balance the charm. It closes with a sterling silver toggle, and I added a leaf of Thai silver and an amber bead near the clasp. You may buy the bracelet with the matching earrings if you choose, or the bracelet alone.
The price is $180 for the bracelet, or $200 for the bracelet and earrings. This includes taxes, postage, and insurance to U.S. mailing addresses.
